Karur Vysya Bank expands network with 16 new branches; count stands at 919

--Karur Vysya Bank opens 16 branches across Delhi NCR, southern India
NEW DELHI – Karur Vysya Bank has opened 16 new branches across South India and Delhi-National Capital Region, taking its total branch count to 919 nationwide. The new additions include six branches in Tamil Nadu, five in Andhra Pradesh, three in Telangana, and one each in Karnataka and Delhi-NCR, the bank informed exchanges.
B. Ramesh Babu, managing director of Karur Vysya Bank, inaugurated the new Gachibowli branch in Hyderabad and opened the remaining branches via video-conferencing. The bank said in a press release that the expansion is part of its strategy to deepen its presence across metropolitan, urban, semi-urban, and rural markets, with the new branches catering to retail customers as well as micro, small, and medium enterprises and agricultural businesses while complementing its growing digital banking network.
"We continue to expand our branch network in markets where we see good business potential and an opportunity to deepen our relationship with customers," B. Ramesh Babu said in the release. "While digital banking has made everyday transactions much easier, branches continue to play an important role, particularly for our MSME, retail and agricultural customers. The new branches will help us get closer to customers and offer them the convenience of both personalised service and digital banking."
The new branches are located at Indhresham, Gachibowli, and Kokapet in Telangana, Chennai-Thirumangalam, Erode-Chithode, Sivagangai, Salem-Ammapet, Salem-Jagirrammapalayam and Kancheepuram-Sevilimedu in Tamil Nadu, Vijayawada-Ramavarapadu, Jaggayyapeta, Sompeta, Vizag-Kancharapalem, and Rajahmundry-Konthamuru in Andhra Pradesh, Udupi in Karnataka, and Gurugram and Udyog Vihar in Delhi-NCR, the bank said.
The expansion comes on the back of continued growth in the bank's business. As of Jun. 30, the private-sector lender's total business stood at INR 2.27 trillion, comprising deposits of INR 1.23 trillion and advances of INR 1.05 trillion.
Alongside its branch network, the Tamil Nadu-based lender continues to strengthen its digital banking offerings, with its mobile banking app, "KVB DLite", providing over 150 financial and non-financial services to customers on their mobile phones.
For the June quarter, the lender had reported a net profit of INR 7.56 billion and total income of INR 34.91 billion. Monday, its shares closed at INR 347.60 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.5% from Friday. End
