Hero MotoCorp invests INR 17.58 billion in Ather Energy; raises stake to 32.8%

NEW DELHI – Hero MotoCorp Ltd. Friday said it has acquired an additional equity stake in electric two-wheeler company Ather Energy Ltd. The company completed the purchase of 11.88 million equity shares in Ather Energy for a total consideration of INR 17.58 billion, it said in an exchange filing.
Following this transaction, Hero MotoCorp's shareholding in Ather Energy has increased to 32.8% from 29.88?rlier. Friday, shares of Hero MotoCorp ended at INR 5,600 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, up nearly 1% from Thursday. Shares of Ather Energy jumped over 8% to INR 1,616.30.
For the June quarter, Hero MotoCorp had reported a net profit of INR 14.54 billion on revenues of INR 129.99 billion. Ather Energy had reported a net loss of INR 508.7 million on revenues of INR 12.17 billion. End
