Dalmia Bharat to save limestone tax, cess under new Mines Act

MUMBAI – Dalmia Bharat Ltd. Monday said it along with subsidiaries will no longer have to pay limestone mineral bearing land tax and cess effective Aug. 22. This comes after the recently enacted Mines and Minerals (Development and Regulation) Amendment Act, 2026, the company said in an exchange filing. The company used to pay limestone mineral bearing land tax of INR 160 per tonne and INR 10 per tonne in Tamil Nadu and Assam, respectively. The company also paid INR 60 per tonne of limestone bearing cess in Meghalaya.
The company has so far paid INR 1.27 billion in the financial year 2025-26 (Apr-Mar) and INR 380 million so far in FY27 in mineral bearing land tax and cess, as per the exchange filing.
For the June quarter, Dalmia Bharat had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 1.88 billion on revenue of INR 38.90 billion. At 0916 IST, shares of the company traded at INR 1,841.10 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.6% from Friday. End
