--IRDAI OKs reappointment of HDFC Life Insurance CFO Niraj Shah

NEW DELHI – HDFC Life Insurance Co. Wednesday said it has received the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India's approval for the reappointment of Vibha Padalkar as its managing director and chief executive officer. Padalkar's has been reappointed for a further five-year term, effective Sept. 12, according to an exchange filing.

The life insurer also received the authority's go-ahead for the reappointment of Niraj Shah as chief financial officer for five years, according to the filing. The reappointment was with effect from Apr. 26.

In April, the company had submitted an application to the Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India seeking approval for the reappointment of executive directors. Padalkar joined the company in 2008 and was appointed managing director and chief executive officer in 2018. Shah joined in 2019.

For the June quarter, HDFC Life reported a net profit of INR 6.11 billion and a net premium income of INR 165.48 billion. Wednesday, its shares ended at INR 536.30 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.4% from Tuesday.  End
