MUMBAI – Allied Blenders and Distillers Ltd. Wednesday said India Ratings and Research has upgraded the rating on its long-term bank facilities to 'IND AA-' from 'IND A' with a stable outlook and short-term bank facilities to 'IND A1+' from 'IND A1'. The company's ratings were upgraded because of the continued growth in the consolidated scale of operations in 2025-26 (Apr-Mar), which the rating agency expects to sustain with scale and grow further over the medium term, the company said in an exchange filing.

The momentum is expected to sustain led by a better sales mix through premiumisation which may boost Allied Blenders' gross margins. "The ratings are, however, constrained by ABDL's (Allied Blenders) elongated net working capital cycle, due to higher concentration and lagging receivables in the Telangana market, potentially resulting in lower-than-expected cash flow generation and increase leverage over the medium term," India Ratings said.

The ratings agency expects Allied Blenders' leverage to remain comfortable in the medium term, despite the high capital expenditure outlay. The company's established pan-India market position and growing industry size, which has significant entry barriers for new players are key strengths, India Ratings said. The inherent regulatory risks to this industry and losses in key subsidiary due to nascent luxury portfolio operations figure among top weaknesses.

For the June quarter, the company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 492.17 million on revenues of INR 18.09 billion. At 1339 IST, its shares traded 1.7% lower at INR 602.25 on the National Stock Exchange.   End
