MUMBAI – BSE Clearing Ltd., the clearing corporation of BSE, has introduced the three-working-day contracts in the securities lending and borrowing segment with effect from Monday. The newly introduced contracts will offer market participants flexibility for short-term securities borrowing and delivery requirements, according to a BSE Clearing release.

The contracts will also support a deeper and more efficient securities lending and borrowing ecosystem, according to the BSE's clearing corporation. The contracts will have a T+1 first leg and T+3 reverse leg, excluding settlement holidays, and will initially be available for securities in the F&O segment under the "D" series prefix.

The shorter tenor can also support inter-exchange arbitrage, better price alignment, and enable participants to respond more efficiently to temporary market opportunities. The securities lending and borrowing segment platform will continue to operate through an automated, screen-based order matching mechanism based on price-time priority.  End
