MUMBAI – Fast-moving consumer goods company Patanjali Foods Ltd. reported sharp year-on-year growth in net profit and revenue in the June quarter on the back of broad-based growth. The company reported record quarterly revenue for the fourth consecutive quarter.
The company reported a net profit of INR 3.36 billion for the June quarter, up 86% from a year ago. Sequentially, the net profit fell 36%. Revenue from operations rose 29% on year to INR 113.37 billion for the June quarter. Sequentially, revenue from operations rose marginally from INR 111.56 billion.
Total expenses rose 28% on year to INR 108.89 billion, driven by a sharp increase in input costs. The company's cost of materials consumed increased 29% to INR 79.42 billion, purchase of stock-in-trade rose 57% to INR 21.49 billion, and other expenses rose 26% to INR 8.11 billion.
The company's gross profit rose 35% year on year to INR 15.22 billion, with a gross margin of 13.42% for the quarter. Its operating earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation were INR 5.43 billion, up 69% on year. The operating EBITDA margin was at 4.80%.
The advertising and sales promotion investments accounted for 1% of revenue from operations during the quarter. "This investment call was taken with a focused approach to maximise effectiveness and deliver measurable results," the company said in a press release.
On a segment basis, the company's revenue from the edible oils business rose 27% on year to INR 85.05 billion, and the FMCG business grew 35% to INR 29.38 billion. Revenue from wind turbine power generation business remained largely unchanged at INR 119 million.
In the FMCG segment, the biscuits division generated its highest-ever quarterly revenue of INR 5.60 billion, up 27% on year. The consumer staples division reported revenue of INR 10 billion, the Nutrela brand posted revenue of INR 1.60 billion, and the beverage category reported INR 380 million. The home and personal care category revenue was at INR 6.29 billion.
The board of directors of Patanjali declared an interim dividend of INR 1.50 per share for 2025-26 (Apr-Jun) and INR 0.80 per share for FY27. The record date for the dividends is Aug. 21. Patanjali Foods has reappointed Acharya Balkrishna as the chairman of the company.
On Friday, the company's shares closed 0.5% lower at INR 352 on the National Stock Exchange. The company announced its earnings after market hours. End
