MUMBAI – Tata Trusts has begun the process of finding the next chairman of Tata Sons Pvt. Ltd. as N. Chandrasekaran said he won't seek reappointment to the post. Chandrasekaran's current term ends on Feb. 20.

"The Trustees of the Sir Dorabji Tata Trust have passed a resolution to initiate the setting up of a Selection Committee as soon as possible in accordance with the Articles of Association of Tata Sons, for the purpose of recommending a person for appointment as the new Chairman of the Board of Directors," Tata Trusts said in a press release Thursday.

Chandrasekaran said Wednesday he won't seek reappointment as chairman because there has been no decision on extension of his tenure. "I have asked the Board to decide on the succession soon to ensure a proper transition," he said.  End
