NEW DELHI – Relaxo Footwears Ltd. has cut its total manufacturing capacity by 13% to 910,000 pairs per day from 1.05 million pairs per day, the company said in an exchange filing Thursday.
The company said its RFL-I and RFL-II plants in Bahadurgarh, Haryana, were constructed in 1994 and 1999, respectively, and are undergoing reconstruction and renovation to enhance infrastructure, ensure safety compliance, and leverage increased floor area ratio for future expansion. "Further, in line with evolving market trends, the company is actively expanding into the fashionable footwear segment. The production of fashion-forward footwear requires specialized production lines and involves more complex manufacturing processes. This product-mix transition necessitates modifications to conventional assembly layouts and workflows, representing a key structural factor influencing the daily output capacity," the footwear manufacturer said in the exchange filing.
For the June quarter, the company reported a net profit of INR 549.40 million on revenues of INR 7.05 billion. Thursday, shares of the company ended at INR 419.45 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.6%. End
