MUMBAI – KNR Constructions Ltd. Thursday reported a robust jump in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter on the back of one-time income, beating the Street estimate by a wide margin. The company's consolidated revenue, however, fell, missing analysts' estimate for the top line.
The infrastructure project development company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.82 billion, up 450% on year from INR 512.86 million. The company's net profit includes a one-time income of INR 2.85 billion from stake sale in a subsidiary. The analysts' estimate for the bottom line was INR 278.80 million. The company's revenue from operations fell nearly 10% to INR 4.37 billion from INR 4.83 billion in the year-ago quarter. The analysts' estimate for the topline was INR 4.65 billion.
The Hyderabad-based company's total expenses fell 12% on year to INR 3.83 billion due to a sharp fall in cost of materials consumed. The company's cost of materials declined 25% to INR 1.74 billion, spreading and assortment expenses rose 63% to INR 1.09 billion, and other expenses fell 13% to INR 493 million. Its employee benefit expenses fell 18% to INR 321 million.
Thursday, shares of the company closed at INR 134.58 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.8% from Wednesday. The company detailed its June quarter earnings after market hours. End
