Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Q1 PAT tumbles, misses Street view, even as sales rise

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Passenger Vehicles Ltd. reported a consolidated net profit of INR 7.75 billion for the June quarter, down 80% on year and missing analysts’ consensus estimate of INR 12.54 billion by the proverbial mile. The company’s revenues for the quarter, however, rose substantially on year to INR 957.99 billion and even beat the Street’s estimate in the bargain.
