MSCI adds 4 Indian cos to global standard indices in Aug rejig, removes 3

MUMBAI – Global index provider MSCI has added shares of Adani Energy Solutions Ltd., Billionbrains Garage Ventures Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd., and Lenskart Solutions Ltd. to its global standard index as part of its August index review. These will replace shares of Astral Ltd., Balakrishna Industries Ltd., and SBI Cards and Payments Services Ltd, MSCI announced early Thursday. 

 

Owing to the reshuffle, the number of Indian constituents in the key MSCI index will rise to 166 from 165. The changes will be implemented after the close of trading on Aug. 31, and take effect on Sept. 1, MSCI said.

 

MSCI also added 14 companies to its global small-cap index and excluded 19. Shares of Amagi Media Labs Ltd., Astral Ltd., Ather Energy Ltd., Balkrishna Industries, Clean Max Enviro Energy Solutions, Dalmia Bharat Ltd., E2E Networks, Embassy Developments, L&T Technology Services Ltd., Rubicon Research Ltd., SEDEMAC Mechatronics Ltd., Sky Gold and Diamonds Ltd., Urban Co. Ltd., and Wework India Management Ltd. were added to the small-cap index. 

 

Among the major companies removed from the MSCI global small-cap index were Aurionpro Solutions, CMS Info Systems, Entero Healthcare Solutions Ltd., GMR Power and Urban Infra Ltd., ICRA Ltd., Latent View Analytics Ltd., Laurus Labs Ltd., Mas Financial Services Ltd., Mastek Ltd., MOIL Ltd., Network18 Media & Investments Ltd., Nippon Life India Asset Management Ltd., PTC India Ltd., Rallis India Ltd., Rashtriya Chemicals and Fertilisers Ltd., Rattanindia Power Ltd., Star Cement Ltd., Transrail Lighting Ltd., and Valor Estate Ltd.  End
