NEW DELHI – Jubilant FoodWorks Ltd. is likely to report a healthy increase in its June quarter top line, driven primarily by store expansion. However, higher employee costs, tax liabilities, and other operational expenses are expected to weigh down bottom line growth, according to analysts. The company's net profit is expected to rise nearly 5% on year to INR 700.22 million, according to the average of estimates from nine brokerages. The highest net profit estimate is INR 929 million from Emkay Global Financial Services Ltd, and the lowest estimate of INR 461 million is from Nuvama Wealth Management Ltd. The company's net profit is expected to recover after an on-year fall in the March quarter.
The revenue from operations is expected to be INR 19.29 billion, up over 13% on year, according to the average of brokerage estimates. The highest net sales estimate of INR 25.69 billion is from Emkay Global Financial Services, and the lowest estimate of INR 18.29 billion is from Kotak Securities Ltd. This is likely to be the 22nd quarter of an on-year rise in net sales.
Nirmal Bang Equities Pvt. Ltd. expects the company to report 10% on-year revenue growth in the June quarter, supported by around a 2% rise in Domino's same store sales and continued store additions (2,513 stores). "Westlife Foodworld and Restaurant Brands Asia are likely to post revenue growth of ~8.5% and ~10.9% YoY, respectively, driven by improving SSSG (same store sales growth) of ~2% and ~3%, reflecting gradual demand recovery," the brokerage said.
During the June quarter, the company added a net of 76 stores, taking the total store count to 3,712. Domino's India added 58 new stores, ending the quarter with 2,513 stores, and Domino's Eurasia added eight new stores, ending the quarter with 795 stores, the company said in an exchange filing.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are expected to be INR 3.57 billion, according to the average of brokerages' estimates. In the year-ago quarter, the company's reported EBITDA was INR 3.23 billion.
Kotak Securities Ltd. expects the EBITDA margin at 12%, and Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd. expects it at 11.9%. The company will announce June quarter earnings on Thursday.
Wednesday, shares of the company closed 0.7% lower at INR 484.70 on the National Stock Exchange. This is nearly 8% higher than the March quarter earnings on May 20.
