AHMEDABAD - AIA Engineering Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the June quarter fell 1.3% on year to INR 3.01 billion as the company's raw material cost jumped nearly 17% on year and freight costs jumped more than 80% than a year ago in the June quarter. The net profit for Apr-Jun was also lower than the street estimate of INR 3.15 billion.
The company's revenue from operations for the quarter rose 12.4% to INR 11.68 billion, from INR 10.39 billion. The company's revenue, unlike net profit, was higher than INR 11.36 billion the analysts had expected from the engineering firm. The company's other income rose to INR 1.11 billion from INR 1.08 billion a year ago. Sequentially, the net profit fell 23.4% and revenue fell 7.8%.
In Apr-Jun, total expenditure, including finance cost, was at INR 8.90 billion compared with INR 7.67 billion a year ago. Finance cost declined to INR 4.55 million from INR 71.96 million a year ago. The cost of materials consumed by the company in Apr-Jun stood at nearly INR 4.50 billion, compared with INR 3.86 billion in year ago quarter. The company's freight expenses, too, rose to INR 1.05 billion, from INR 582.39 million a year ago. The company's tax outgo for the June quarter was at INR 940.55 million as against INR 803.34 million a year ago.
The company's consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter stood at INR 4.25 billion, compared with INR 4.20 billion a year ago. Its consolidated EBITDA margin for the quarter under review was 36.35%, down from 40.46% in Apr-Jun, 2025.
Separately, in an investors' presentation filed along with its June quarter earnings, the company stated its order book stood at INR 9.77 bln on Jul. 1 and it had spent INR 500 million as capital expenditure in the June quarter.
Sharing details of the segment revenue, the company said that of the total sales of INR 6.46 billion in June quarter, nearly 61%, or INR 3.92 billion came from mining segment. The company said that the amount it needs to receive from its customers in the June quarter rose nearly 36% on-year to INR 11.13 billion, up from INR 8.21 billion in June quarter year ago. The customers also seem to take 17 more days to make their payments, with receivable days up at 90 days in Apr-Jun, from 73 days in June quarter last year.
The shares of the company fell from INR 4,745 per share just before announcement of June quarter earnings. Shares of AIA Engineering ended Wednesday INR 4,523 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, 5% lower from Tuesday. End
