Fall in revenue, other income pulls down IFCI's Profit After Tax on year

NEW DELHI – IFCI Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the June quarter fell marginally on year due to a drop in revenue from operations and other income. A fall in total expenditure limited the fall in the company's bottom line.
IFCI Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the June quarter fell to INR 335.2 million from INR 399.3 million a year ago. Sequentially, it rose nearly 154%.
The company detailed its June quarter results post market hours. On Tuesday, shares of the company ended at INR 75.70 on the National Stock Exchange, down 0.4 from the previous close.
Revenue from operations in the June quarter fell nearly 20% on year to INR 3.27 billion. Sequentially, the revenue fell over 30%. Fees and commission income of the company rose over 6% on year to INR 1.58 billion in the June quarter.
The company's other income fell to INR 306.7 million from INR 376.8 million a year ago. A fall in revenue and other income weighed on total income of the company, which fell nearly 20% on year and nearly 24% on quarter to INR 3.58 billion in the reporting quarter.
In Apr-Jun, total expenditure was at INR 2.62 billion, down nearly 23% on year and over 40% on quarter. Of total expenses, finance cost declined marginally on year to INR 1.04 billion, but employee benefits expenses rose to INR 744 million, up nearly 5% on year. The company's tax outgo for the June quarter was at INR 356.6 million as against a tax write-back of INR 67 million a quarter ago. IFCI is a state-owned non-banking financial company. End
