NEW DELHI – Rail Vikas Nigam Ltd. Tuesday reported an on-year increase in its standalone bottom line for the June quarter as the pace of growth of the top line was faster than that of total expenses. The revenue from operations grew on-year, supporting the total income. The company reverted to an on-year net profit growth after eight consecutive quarters of decline. While the company's net profit missed the analyst estimate, its revenue from operations was within the view. 

 

The net profit grew nearly 22% on year to INR 1.56 billion. The revenue from operations grew nearly 10% on year to INR 43.01 billion. Prabhudas Lilladher Pvt. Ltd. had estimated net profit at INR 2.43 billion and the net sales at INR 43 billion. The company announced earnings during market hours. At 1457 IST, shares of the company traded 0.1% higher at INR 230.80 on the National Stock Exchange. 

 

Total income grew nearly 8% on year to INR 44.55 billion. The total expenses of the company rose nearly 7% on year to INR 42.38 billion, which was lower than the trailing quarter. Of this, the expenses related to operations jumped nearly 7% on year to INR 39.80 billion, and the expenses related to employee benefits grew nearly 9% on year to INR 531 million. 

 

However, the company's finance cost declined over 12% on year to INR 969 million, lowest in six quarters. The other expenses was INR 354 million, down nearly 45% on year.  End
