Robust revenue growth lifts Choice International Q1 PAT

MUMBAI – Choice International Ltd. posted strong on-year growth in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter, supported by a robust increase in the financial services company's revenue from operations.
The company posted a consolidated net profit of INR 552.96 million for the June quarter, up nearly 23% on year. However, the bottom line fell over 8% on a sequential basis.
The consolidated revenue from operations for the reporting quarter grew over 32% on year to INR 3.10 billion. It rose 1% on a quarterly basis. The company's other income surged over 177% to INR 92.38 million from INR 33.33 million a year ago.
Broking and distribution services contributed the biggest share to the company's revenue at INR 1.72 billion, followed by advisory services at INR 912.84 million. Revenue from non-banking financial company services for the June quarter was INR 445.36 million. The total income rose over 34% on year and nearly 2% on quarter to INR 3.19 billion.
Choice International's total expenses rose nearly 37% on year and over 5% on quarter to INR 2.39 billion. Other expenses constituted the major share of the firm's total expenses at INR 1.11 billion, followed by employee benefit expenses which stood at INR 940.11 million for the June quarter.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter grew over 31% on year to INR 1.14 billion. However, it fell over 7% on quarter. The EBITDA margin for the reporting quarter was 35.75%, down from 39.08% a quarter ago.
Manoj Singhania has resigned as chief financial officer and he will be succeeded by Ayush Sharma, the company said in the earnings release. On Monday, shares of the company ended at INR 844.75 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.4% over Friday. Choice International announced its financial results after market hours. End
