MUMBAI – PNC Infratech Ltd. reported a higher-than-expected revenue and net profit for the June quarter. The company's net profit more than tripled to INR 2.71 billion from INR 808 million in the year-ago quarter. The company exceeded analysts' expectations of net profit at INR 852 million by a wide margin. The bottom line more than doubled from INR 1 billion in the March quarter.

 

The company's revenue from operations rose almost 34% on year and over 4% on quarter to INR 15.18 billion, it exceeded analysts' expectations of INR 12.48 billion. The company's other income rose four-fold on year to INR 423 million.

 

The company's total expenses were INR 11.96 billion during the quarter, up 15% on year. However, the total expenses fell almost 11% sequentially. The company's cost of materials consumed/contract paid rose 13% on year to INR 9.32 billion. Other expense rose over 35% on year but fell 19% sequentially to INR 1.12 billion for the June quarter. Employee benefit expense was up 11% on year to INR 992 million.

 

Friday, shares of PNC Infratech closed at INR 224.38 on the National Stock Exchange, down 6.4%. The company announced its June quarter earnings Saturday.  End
