MUMBAI – Technology company Affle 3i Ltd. Saturday reported a higher-than-expected net profit for the June quarter. The company reported a net profit of INR 1.28 billion for the June quarter, up more than 7% sequentially from INR 1.20 billion. On a year-on-year basis, the net profit was up almost 22% from INR 1.06 billion. Analysts had estimated the profit at INR 1.20 billion.

 

The company reported revenue from operations of INR 7.47 billion, slightly beating the Street's estimate of INR 7.43 billion. This was up 3% sequentially from INR 7.24 billion.

 

The total income for the June quarter was up nearly 4% on quarter to INR 7.72 billion. Other income grew 18% to INR 250 million on quarter. The company's total expenses rose almost 3% to INR 6.14 billion sequentially. There was an increase of over 3% in both the inventory and data costs, and the employee benefits expense to INR 4.72 billion and INR 656 million, respectively. Other expenses rose marginally to INR 416 million. Finance cost slipped 33% to INR 6.72 million on quarter.

 

Shares of Affle 3i ended Friday at INR 1,645.60 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, down 2.6% from Thursday. 

 

The company's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter rose 20% on year to INR 1.68 billion. The EBITDA margin remained stable at 22.4% from 22.5% in the year-ago quarter.

 

For the June quarter, revenue from the conversion of users grew 20% on year to INR 7.45 billion. Affle charges its customers by converted users on a cost-per-user basis.  End
