Sai Life Sciences Apr-Jun consol PAT rises 21% on year, revenue rises 12%

MUMBAI – Sai Life Sciences Ltd. Thursday reported a consolidated net profit at INR 733 million for the June quarter, up 21% on year. Sequentially, the bottom line fell 30%. The company's consolidated revenues for Apr-Jun rose 12% on year to INR 5.54 billion. 

 

The company's total expenses were up 8% on year at INR 4.60 billion for the June quarter. The company's largest expense, employee benefits expense, rose 12% on year to nearly INR 1.80 billion. Cost of material, chemicals, and reagents consumed was INR 1.78 billion, up 12% on year. The company's other expenses rose over 10% on year to INR 815 million.

 

Sai Life Sciences' consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation were INR 1.48 billion, up 18% on year. The company's EBITDA margin expanded to 27% in the June quarter from 25% in the year-ago period.

 

"CRO (contract research organisation) maintained strong momentum, growing 24% year-on-year, while our CMC (chemistry, manufacturing, and controls) pipeline continues to strengthen with 33 active commercial molecules and 14 late-phase molecules," Siva Chittor, the chief financial officer of the company, said in a press release. "Coupled with encouraging traction in our FTE (full-time equivalent)-led engagement model, a healthy balance sheet and disciplined capital allocation, we remain confident in executing our long-term growth strategy."

 

Thursday, shares of Sai Life Sciences closed at INR 1,413.50 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.4% from Wednesday. The company detailed its June quarter earnings after market hours Thursday.  End
