NEW DELHI – Prime Minister Narendra Modi Thursday received a telephone call from his Israeli counterpart, Benjamin Netanyahu. The two leaders reviewed the Special Strategic Partnership and exchanged views on the recent developments in West Asia, the prime minister's office said in a statement.

 

"The two leaders reviewed sustained progress in India-Israel Special Strategic Partnership and reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening the bilateral cooperation across various sectors for the mutual benefit of the two countries," it said. "The two leaders agreed to remain in touch."

 

Meanwhile, the US-Iran war seemed to be inching towards a pause again as Tehran said it is nearing a deal with Oman to help end the war. Iran's Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi was reported by the country's Islamic Republic News Agency as saying that for Iran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the US must abide by the memorandum of understanding it had signed with Tehran in June.  End
