MUMBAI – Campus Activewear Ltd. reported a year-on-year increase in its net profit for the June quarter, supported by growth in revenue. However, both net profit and revenue were below the Street estimates.
The sports and athleisure footwear company reported a net profit of INR 261.40 million for the June quarter, up 18% on year from INR 222 million. This was below the Street estimate of INR 269 million. Sequentially, the net profit fell 41% from INR 441.40 million. The company's revenue from operations for the June quarter increased 12% on year to INR 3.85 billion from INR 3.43 billion. This was slightly below the Street estimate of INR 3.94 billion. Sequentially, the company's revenue from operations fell 15% from INR 4.55 billion.
The company's total expenses were at INR 3.58 billion, up over 12% on year. The company's cost of materials consumed rose 35% on year to INR 2.57 billion for the quarter. Employee benefit expenses of the company rose 15% on year at INR 371 million and the other expenses rose 13% on year to INR 1.20 billion.
Shares of Campus Activewear fell over 5% to INR 219.65, after the company announced its June quarter earnings during the market hours. At 1345, the stock traded at INR 219.66 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, down 3% from Wednesday.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose to INR 627 million from INR 554 million in the year-ago quarter. The EBITDA margin remained unchanged on year at 15.9%. The gross margin of the company rose to 55.9% from 55.4% recorded in the year-ago quarter.
Campus Activewear's sales volume for the June quarter grew 11.7% on year to 5.71 million pairs. The average selling price per pair increased to INR 674 from INR 671 in the year-ago quarter. Direct-to-consumer channel of the company served as a key growth driver, generating a revenue contribution of 46.1% as the company scales its digital platforms, online marketplaces, and exclusive brand outlets.
The company now owns over 31,000 retail stores across 850 districts in 28 states. Campus Activewear is also a leading footwear brand on Flipkart, Myntra, and Nykaa.
"We are pleased to begin FY27 on a strong note, delivering healthy double-digit revenue and volume growth in Q1. The performance reflects the strength of the Campus brand, improving demand trends, and disciplined execution across our omnichannel network," Nikhil Aggarwal, chief executive officer of the company, said in a release. "Growth during the quarter was broad-based, with the Women's and Kids' categories registering strong growth," he added. End
