MUMBAI - Campus Activewear Ltd. is expected to report a sharp growth in its net profit and revenues for the June quarter, aided by healthy demand in the footwear segment, continued premiumisation, calibrated price hikes, and expansion across retail and digital channels, according to brokerages tracking the company.

The company is expected to report a standalone net profit of INR 269 million for the June quarter, according to the average of estimates from five brokerages. The estimated net profit will be up 21% on year but down 39% sequentially. The highest estimate for the net profit is INR 298 million from SMIFS Ltd. and the lowest is INR 244 million from Elara Securities (India) Pvt. Ltd.

Campus Activewear is expected to report standalone net sales of INR 3.94 billion for the June quarter, according to the estimates. This will be up nearly 15% on year but down 14% on quarter. The highest estimate for the net sales is INR 4.04 billion from SMIFS and the lowest is INR 3.85 billion from Elara. The company had reported a net sales of INR 3.43 billion and net profit of INR 244 million in the year-ago quarter.

Brokerages expect the company's revenues to be driven by a 11-13% volume growth and higher average selling prices. The company's volume growth will be supported by a favourable base and strong traction across multi-brand outlets and direct-to-consumer channels.

Average selling prices for the company's products are expected to increase 6-7% on year due to a richer product mix and price hikes implemented in April. The company is estimated to report sales of around 5.6 million pairs in the June quarter, up from 5.1 million in the year ago quarter, SMIFS said in a report.

The company's net profit is expected to increase on year, making Campus one of the stronger performers in the footwear segment during the quarter. The company is also expected to outperform its key competitors, with the mid-premium and premium footwear segments being the key growth drivers.

Campus Activewear's revenue is expected to grow 17% to 18% on year, while the mass footwear market is expected to report a gradual recovery, with Bata India and Relaxo Footwears likely to see a 4% to 5% on year growth, Motilal Oswal said.

Campus' earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are estimated at INR 595 million for the June quarter, flat on year and sequentially, according to the average of five estimates. The highest estimate for the company's EBITDA is INR 636 million from SMIFS and the lowest is INR 558 million from Elara.

The company's EBITDA margin is expected to expand around 140 basis points on year to 15.8%, supported by operating leverage, improved cost efficiencies and disciplined control over operating expenses. However, some pressure from raw material inflation and an unfavourable input-cost mix is likely to weigh on the company's gross margins.

The company will detail its June quarter earnings Thursday. Investors will watch out for the management's commentary on the volume growth trends, demand in the premium segments, performance across multi-brand outlets,  and direct-to-consumer channels, and the impact of recent price hikes. Wednesday, shares of Campus Activewear ended at INR 226.54 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, up more than 1% from Tuesday. The shares are down 4% since the company detailed its March quarter earnings on May 25.

All four research reports on the company available with Informist have a "buy" recommendation on the stock. The average target price of the buy call is INR 327.25 per share, which is 45?ove the current market price.
