MUMBAI – Vijaya Diagnostic Centre Ltd. is expected to report strong growth in its June quarter net profit aided by stable pricing, rising awareness of preventive testing, and the addition of spokes under its hub-and-spoke model, according to brokerages tracking the company. The diagnostic centre is likely to see an increase in its net revenue driven by higher volumes of tests and patients.

Vijaya Diagnostic is expected to post a consolidated net profit of INR 480 million for the June quarter, up more than 24% on year but down nearly 2% sequentially, according to the average of estimates from seven brokerages. The highest estimate for the company's net sales is INR 2.29 billion from Nuvama Wealth and the lowest is INR 2.20 billion from PhillipCapital.

The diagnostic company is expected to deliver strong revenue growth of 21% on year, primarily driven by an 18% increase in test volumes and a 3% improvement in revenue per test, according to Antique Stock Broking Ltd. The addition of spokes in Hyderabad is expected to aid revenue growth, while the ramp-up of new centres in Kolkata and commissioning of the flagship Bengaluru hub will drive higher volume through added capacity and lower turnaround time, Emkay Global said. The company's spokes are smaller branches that offer only basic pathology and radiology tests. The company's net profit is expected to rise between 18% and 35%, in line with its operating performance, brokerages said.

Vijaya Diagnostic's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are expected to be INR 922 million, up 25% on year but down more than 3% sequentially according to the estimates. The highest estimate for the company's EBITDA is INR 939 million from Antique Stock Broking Ltd. and the lowest is INR 894 million from ICICI Securities Ltd. The company's EBITDA margin is expected to expand by 120-290 basis points to 41% on year from 39.1%, according to brokerages.

The diagnostic sector as a whole is expected to see a 14% revenue growth on year, driven by test volume growth of 11% on year according to Antique Stock Broking. The aggregate EBITDA of companies in this sector is expected to increase 13% on year to INR 4 billion, with EBITDA margins largely stable at 28%, the brokerage said. The sector's net profit is likely to grow 8% on year to INR 2 billion, it added.

Vijaya Diagnostic is a business-to-consumer focused integrated diagnostic chain that operates 200 diagnostic centres. Headquartered in Hyderabad, its network spans Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Maharashtra, Karnataka, and the National Capital Region. The company will detail its earnings for the June quarter Thursday.
