Angel One client base up 18% YoY; gross client acquisition down 27% YoY

--Angel One gross client acquisition 470,000 in July, down 26.7% on year 

 

MUMBAI – Angel One Ltd. Wednesday said its client base increased 18% on year to 39.03 million users, while its gross client acquisitions fell almost 27% on year in July to 470,000 new additions, according to an exchange filing. However, on a monthly basis, the financial services company's gross client acquisitions and client base rose 4% and 1%, respectively. The company's registered unique mutual fund systematic investment plans declined 30% on year to 621,760.

 

The company's average client funding book rose over 39% on year to INR 70.81 billion. The number of orders was 134.68 million, up almost 10% on year. The company's average daily orders for July also rose almost 10% on year to 5.86 million. On a monthly basis, however, both the number of orders and average daily orders declined by around 4% and 12%, respectively. 

 

Based on notional turnover, the average daily turnover in July rose almost 18% on year to INR 48.79 trillion. The average daily turnover in the futures and options segment rose to INR 46.89 trillion, up 16% on year but fell 6% on month from INR 50.09 trillion in June.

 

Based on options premium turnover, Angel One's average daily turnover rose over 82% on year to INR 2.03 trillion, while its average daily turnover in the futures and options segment was INR 134 billion, up 18% on year. 

 

Angel One's retail turnover market share for overall equity, based on option premium turnover, contracted 11 basis points on year to 20.0%. Its retail turnover market share for the futures and options segment rose to 22.2%, up 98 bps on year. Angel One's commodity turnover market share declined 1,573 bps year-on-year in July to 48.0%.

 

For the June quarter, Angel One had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 2.31 billion on revenue of INR 14.30 billion. At 1010 IST, its shares were unchanged at INR 300.20 apiece on the National Stock Exchange.  End
