MUMBAI – Vaibhav Global Ltd. reported a sharp rise in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter despite a decline in other income and a steady rise in its revenue from operations. The company's total expenses growing at a slower pace than its revenue also supported its profit growth.
The company's net profit for the quarter rose 50% to INR 563.8 million from INR 376.3 million in the corresponding quarter a year ago even as other income fell more than 59% on year to INR 53.13 million. Its revenue from operations increased nearly 13% to INR 9.17 billion.
The e-commerce business' sales through television rose 9% for the quarter ended June to INR 4.84 billion and those from digital platforms rose over 19% to INR 3.98 billion. Sales volumes through television stood at 1.37 million, up over 2%, while the average selling price of its products in the US fell to $37.7 from $38.8. Across its digital medium, volumes fell slightly to 1.13 million as the average selling price of its products inched up to $37 from $33.8 in the corresponding period a year ago. The US is the company's major geography for sales.
The jewellery seller's total expenses grew 9% to INR 8.52 billion and other expenses, which make up the major chunk of its spending, climbed 20.5% on year and almost 5% sequentially to INR 3.93 billion. The negative change in the company's inventories of finished goods and stock-in-trade helped limit the rise in expenditure for the June quarter.
Vaibhav Global's earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation rose 37% on year for the quarter under review to INR 1.02 billion and its EBITDA margin expanded to 11.1% from 9.2% a year ago.
The company will pay its shareholders an interim dividend of INR 1.50 apiece during 2026-27 (Apr-Mar) and the record date to decide the eligibility of shareholders for the dividend is set as Aug. 12.
Vaibhav Global Tuesday reported its earnings for the June quarter after market hours. At 0916 IST, shares of the company traded nearly 2% lower at INR 264.75 on the National Stock Exchange. End
