MUMBAI – Multi Commodity Exchange of India Ltd.'s consolidated net profit for the June quarter more than doubled while the consolidated revenue from operations rose 88% on year. The company posted a consolidated net profit of INR 4.13 billion, up more than 103% on year from INR 2.03 billion it had reported in the year-ago quarter. Analysts had estimated net profit to be between INR 4.2 billion and INR 4.3 billion.

 

The company's consolidated revenue from operations was up 88% at INR 7.02 billion against INR 3.73 billion reported in the year-ago quarter. The company's other income rose 52% on year to INR 498 million, leading the company's total income to INR 7.52 billion, up 85.25% on year.

 

MCX's total expenses for the quarter rose 54% on year to INR 2.29 billion. The expense for product licence fees rose 80% on year to INR 396.8 million. Employee benefits expenses rose 28% to INR 574 million. The expense for contribution to statutory funds and regulatory fees, and other expenses, both more than doubled on year.

 

The company reported total core settlement guarantee fund of INR 14.43 billion as of Jun. 30.

 

Tuesday, the company's shares closed 1.4% higher at INR 2,680 on the National Stock Exchange. Multi Commodity Exchange of India announced its June quarter earnings after market hours.  End
