MUMBAI – Bharti Hexacom Ltd. Tuesday posted strong growth in its revenue from operations for the June quarter driven by higher average revenue per user and continued customer additions. This led to a robust growth in its standalone net profit for the June quarter.

 

The company's standalone net profit for the quarter was INR 4.82 billion, up 23% on year and 8% on quarter. Its standalone revenue from operations was up 11% on year to INR 25.10 billion. This was on the back of a rise in average revenue per user, which rose to INR 259 in the June quarter from INR 246 a year ago. The company's revenue from mobile services grew 9% on year to INR 23.95 billion. Its revenue from homes, office, and other services was INR 1.27 billion, up 61% on year.

 

Bharti Hexacom's total expenses grew 8% on year to INR 11.88 billion. Network operating expenses were INR 5.38 billion, up 3% on year. The company's access charges and licence fee or spectrum charges rose 25% on year and 9% on year, respectively.

 

Bharti Hexacom's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose to INR 13.75 billion, up 13% on year. The company's EBITDA margin expanded by 99 basis points on year to 54.8%. Its EBIT grew 14% on year to INR 7.7 billion. The EBIT margin expanded to 30.7%, up 74 bps on year.

 

The company's capital expenditure for the June quarter was INR 3.82 billion, down from INR 5.86 billion in the trailing quarter. The company's net debt fell to INR 43.93 billion in the June quarter from INR 54.73 billion in the March quarter. 

 

Bharti Hexacom's mobile services customer base rose 0.7% on quarter to 28.98 million users for the June quarter. Smartphone data customer base was 23.1 million users, accounting for 80% of the total mobile services customer base, and increased by 300,000 customers in the June quarter. The company's homes, offices, and other segment customer base reached 918,000 users, adding 75,000 customers in the quarter. Its total customer base rose to 29.90 million users.

 

The company's mobile services network towers rose to 26,889 at the end of the June quarter from 26,742 in the trailing quarter. It had 96,012 mobile broadband stations at the end of the June quarter, up from 94,397 in the March quarter. The mobile data usage of the company grew 31% on year, with its average monthly usage per customer reaching 36.2 gigabytes.

 

The company detailed its June quarter earnings after market hours. Tuesday, shares of Bharti Hexacom closed at INR 1,616.80 on the National Stock Exchange, down 2% from Monday.  End
