MUMBAI - ASK Automotive Ltd. is expected to post a sharp jump in its net profit and sales for the June quarter on the back of higher sales of two-wheelers, according to brokerages tracking the company.
The braking system maker's net profit for the June quarter is seen rising 36% on year and 21% sequentially to INR 738 million, according to the average of estimates from five brokerages. The company's net sales are expected at INR 11.76 billion, a sharp jump of 62% on year and up 32% on quarter.
The highest estimate for the company's bottom line for the June quarter is INR 788 million from Nirmal Bang Equities Pvt. Ltd. and the lowest is INR 714 million from HDFC Securities Ltd. The highest estimate for the company's net sales for the June quarter is INR 12.29 billion from Nuvama Wealth Management Ltd. and the lowest is INR 11.33 billion from HDFC Securities.
ASK Automotive is expected to report earnings growth due to continued strong demand after the cut in the goods and service tax, followed by price cuts and higher exports, brokerages said. According to data from the Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers, two-wheeler production rose 23% on year to 7.25 million units for the June quarter.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are expected at INR 1.38 billion for the June quarter, according to the average of estimates from four brokerages. The highest estimate for ASK Automotive's EBITDA is INR 1.43 billion from Nirmal Bang and the lowest is INR 1.33 billion from ICICI Securities Ltd.
The component maker's EBITDA margin is expected to contract 190 basis points on year from 13.4% it had reported in the year-ago quarter, according to two estimates. The EBITDA margin is likely to be impacted by higher aluminium prices and production costs. The EBITDA contraction will be lower as the company has exited from the low margin wheel assembly business, brokerages said.
The company will detail its June quarter earnings Tuesday. Investors will watch out for the timeline for implementing the mandatory anti-lock braking system for two-wheelers and new order wins, Nuvama said. The final notification for implementing the new rule is yet to be rolled out by the road transport ministry.
