NEW DELHI – KEI Industries Ltd. Monday said its board has approved an investment of INR 7 billion to expand the production capacity for wires and cables at its upcoming manufacturing unit at Tijara in Rajasthan. The expanded capacity will be operational by September 2028 in a phased manner, and the said investment will be funded through internal accruals, the company said in an exchange filing. 

 

The company plans to increase the capacity of cable manufacturing by 50,000 kilometres and that of galvanised iron wires by 40,000 tonnes, which will be used for backward integration. The current capacity for cables stands at 260,732 kilometres with annual utilisation in the category at 72% as of Jun. 30.

 

For the June quarter, the company's net profit was INR 2.74 billion on revenue of INR 31.85 billion. Monday, shares of the company closed 0.5% higher at INR 5,023.30 on the National Stock Exchange. End
