MUMBAI – Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd. Monday reported a sharp on-year fall in its net profit and revenue for the June quarter. However, both the net profit and revenue of the company were seen up sharply, sequentially.

 

The pharmaceutical company's net profit for the June quarter fell 14% on year to INR 782.64 million from INR 911.70 million in the year-ago quarter. Sequentially, the net profit was up nearly 22%. The company's revenue from operations for the quarter fell more than 17% on year to INR 2.93 billion from INR 3.55 billion in the year-ago quarter. Sequentially, the revenue from operations was up 25%.

 

The company's total expenses for the quarter was down nearly 16% on year to INR 2.02 billion. The company's cost of materials consumed rose 66% on year to INR 1.79 billion in the June quarter. The company's employee benefit expenses rose 15% on year to INR 201 million, and the depreciation and amortisation expenses rising 18% on year to INR 67 million. The company reported an increase in the changes in inventories of finished goods and work in-progress to INR 418 million for the quarter. The finance costs of the company fell 4% on year to INR 6.60 million.

 

The company paid INR 277 million as tax in the June quarter, down nearly 13% on year. At 1255 IST, shares of the company fell 4.9% to INR 595.80 from 2.2% after the company detailed its June quarter earnings.

 

Blue Jet Healthcare Ltd. has re-appointed Akshay B. Arora as the whole time director and executive chairman for a period of five years, starting Apr. 13, 2027. He was appointed as the executive chairman of the company on Apr. 13, 1983. Shivan Akshay Arora has been re-appointed as the managing director of the company for a period of five years effective from Apr. 13, 2027. He was appointed as the managing director of the company on Apr. 13, 2022.

 

At 1422 IST, the shares of the company traded slightly down at INR 594.50 after falling to 4.9% since the company detailed its June quarter earnings.  End
