Tata Motors' July CV despatches grow 37% YoY; heavy trucks see robust demand

--Tata Motors Jul domestic CV sales 33,876 units, up 28% on year 

--Tata Motors Jul CV exports 5,765 units, up 128% on year 

 

MUMBAI – Tata Motors Ltd. Saturday said the company sold 39,641 commercial vehicles to dealerships in July, up 37% on year, on the back of healthy growth in sales of heavy trucks and pickup vehicles. While its domestic sales grew 28% to 33,876, the automaker's exports grew to 5,765 units from 2,524 units a year ago.

 

Local wholesale sales of small cargo and pickup vehicles improved 30% on year to 12,865 units in July. Tata Motors sold 8,973 heavy trucks to dealerships in India, up 33% on year.

 

The despatches of intermediate, light, and medium commercial vehicles in June stood at 6,100 units, up 20% on year. This sub-segment covers trucks and tippers with a gross vehicle weight of between four and 19 tonnes. 

 

For the March quarter, Tata Motors had reported net profit of INR 24.06 billion on revenues of INR 244.52 billion. Friday, its shares closed 5.3% higher at INR 436.80 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
