--ICICI Bank raises 5 year FCNR(B) deposit rates by 25 bps 

 

MUMBAI – ICICI Bank Ltd. raised its interest rate on foreign currency non-resident dollar-denominated bank deposits for five-year tenor by 25 basis points effective Wednesday. The revision comes after the Reserve Bank of India announced a concessional dollar-rupee swap facility for fresh FCNR(B) deposits in June. The bank's revised interest rates on FCNR(B) deposits for five years now stands at 6.25%, as per the bank's website. 

 

Friday, shares of ICICI Bank closed at INR 1,435.40 apiece on the National Stock Exchange, up slightly from Thursday. The private-sector lender posted a net profit of INR 148.05 billion for the June quarter, up 16% on year and 8% on quarter. Its total income for the reporting quarter was up 5.4% on year at INR 542.47 billion.
