MUMBAI – Escorts Kubota Ltd. posted a 22% on-year growth in its tractor sales for July at 8,731 units, the company said in an exchange filing Saturday. This comprises sales of 8,194 units in India, up 23.7% on year. Meanwhile, tractor exports reported only 1.3% on-year growth for the month at 537 units.

 

"Growth momentum remained positive in July 2026, supported by steady performance across wholesale and retail segments," Escorts Kubota said. "Improved rainfall during the month of July reduced cumulative rainfall deficit to 14–15% and Kharif sowing activity picked up pace thereby supporting rural demand and sentiments," it said.

 

Overall, the company sees rural fundamentals remaining resilient, according to the filing. Kharif crop and progression in the monsoon, delayed festive season in the December quarter, input cost pressures, and the high base effect in the coming months will be the key factors to watch, according to the filing.  

 

For Apr-Jul, the company's total sales grew nearly 21% on year to 45,593 units. It posted sales of 43,651 units in India for the period, up 23.1% on year. However, the company's total exports during Apr-Jul declined 14.2% on year to 1,942 units.

 

The company's construction equipment business sold 534 machines in July, up 49.2% on year when compared with the sale of 358 machines in the same month last year. For Apr-Jul, the company sold 1,878 construction equipment, up 32.9% on year.

 

"Construction equipment industry-maintained growth momentum in July 2026, supported by a lower base in the corresponding period last year following the implementation of BSV emission norms, along with sustained infrastructure activity and continued government capex (capital expenditure), robust project pipeline and increasing export opportunities continue to support the industry's near-term outlook," it said in the filing. However, the company said ongoing geopolitical developments will be a key monitorable, which could impact ground sentiment, commodity costs, and overall business conditions.

 

Escorts Kubota had reported a net profit of INR 3.25 billion for the March quarter on revenues of INR 29.51 billion. Friday, shares of the company closed 2.4% higher at INR 3,086 on the National Stock Exchange.  End
