MUMBAI – Latent View Analytics Ltd. is likely to report a marginal decline in its net profit for the June quarter due to the impact of wage hikes and client specific challenges across its major verticals, according to brokerages tracking the company.
The company is expected to report a net profit of between INR 496 million and INR 534 million, according to estimates from three brokerages. The company had reported a consolidated net profit of INR 528 million for the March quarter and of INR 508 million for the year-ago quarter. The highest estimate for the June quarter net profit is from ICICI Securities Ltd. and the lowest is from Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers Ltd.
The net sales of the company are seen between INR 2.91 billion and INR 3.00 billion, according to the estimates. The highest estimate is from Prabhudas Lilladher Pvt. Ltd. and the lowest is from ICICI Securities. The estimated net sales are only marginally higher than the INR 2.89 billion net sales the company had reported for the March quarter but are significantly higher than the INR 2.36 billion it had reported for the year-ago quarter.
Latent View's revenue may see only a marginal rise sequentially due to slower deal conversion in its consumer packed goods and retail vertical, and leadership transition in its newly acquired businesses, ICICI Securities said. In dollar terms, the company's revenue for the June quarter is likely to remain flat around $31 million, ICICI Securities and Anand Rathi said. However, Prabhudas Lilladher expects the revenue to increase to $31.7 million.
The company's net profit is expected to decline because more work is being moved inhouse by major technology clients, according to the brokerages. Further, the volume discounts given by the company to its banking, financial services, and insurance industry clients, and the slowdown in projects from consumer packaged goods clients are also likely to weigh on the company's profit growth.
The company's current client-specific setbacks are expected to be balanced out over the next two quarters by new project wins from existing accounts and a steady pipeline of new client additions, ICICI Securities said.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation are expected to be INR 613 million, down almost 12% from 695 million in the year-ago quarter, Anand Rathi said. The company's EBITDA margin for the June quarter is expected at 23.2%, ICICI Securities said. This represents a drop of 20 basis points sequentially. This compression is driven by the impact of annual salary hikes, visa-related costs, and the unexpected revenue dip due to war in West Asia, the brokerage said.
Latent View Analytics provides analytics services such as data and analytics consulting, business analytics and insights, advanced predictive analytics, data engineering, and digital solutions. The company provides services to blue chip companies in technology, BFSI, consumer packaged goods and retail, industrials, and other industries.
The company will announce its June quarter earnings Saturday. Friday, shares of Latent View closed at INR 316.20 per share on the National Stock Exchange, up almost 2% from Thursday. The stock is up 2% since the company reported its March quarter earnings on May 16.
All three brokerage reports on the company available with Informist have a 'buy' recommendation on the stock with an average target price of INR 430. The target price is 36% higher than the closing price Friday.
