NEW DELHI – India's services trade surplus widened to $17.89 billion in June from $15.72 billion in May, according to data released by the Reserve Bank of India Friday. Services trade surplus widened even as services imports rose faster than exports in June.

 

Services imports rose 16.2% on year to $18.48 billion during the month, while services exports increased 13.3% on year to $36.37 billion in June. 

 

In May, services exports and imports were at $33.36 billion and $17.64 billion, respectively. The central bank releases provisional monthly data on India's services trade. The data may be revised when the balance-of-payments data are released quarterly.  End
