EIA says US natural gas stocks up 28 bcf in week ended Jul. 24

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US were up by 28 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jul. 24, data from the US Energy Information Administration showed. The inventory was 6.4% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.  

 

The total working gas in underground storage was 3.08 trillion cubic feet as of Jul. 24. The stocks were 185 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of nearly 2.90 trillion cubic feet, the report said. Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. Of the five regions, the East and Midwest regions saw a rise in stocks during the week. Stocks in the Mountain and Pacific regions declined. In the fifth region, South Central, stocks in the Salt division continued to decline, while stocks in the Non-Salt division rose during the week.

 

At 0838 IST, the most-active September natural gas contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange was up 0.8% at $2.769 per million British thermal units.  End
