MUMBAI – National Stock Exchange of India Ltd. late Wednesday reported a 7% on-year rise in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter at INR 31.20 billion. The exchange's consolidated revenue from operations rose 13% on year to INR 45.60 billion. Of this, the company earned INR 41.03 billion from trading operations, which registered 13% growth on a year-on-year basis. Its revenue from clearing activities rose 9% on year to INR 4.94 billion.
The company earned INR 36.23 billion from transaction charges, up around 15% from INR 31.54 billion a year ago, as per NSE's press release. Its revenue from data connectivity charges was INR 2.58 billion and its operating investment income was INR 2.34 billion. The company derived INR 1.50 billion of revenue from data feed and terminal services.
Its operating earnings before, interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation rose 15% on year to INR 35.94 billion. The operating EBITDA margin expanded marginally to 79% from 78% a year ago.
The company's total expenses rose 11% on year to INR 11.72 billion in the June quarter. The exchange spent INR 2.43 billion on employee benefits, 23% higher than INR 1.98 billion spent a year ago. The company paid regulatory fees of INR 1.88 billion, up 11% from INR 1.70 billion in the corresponding quarter a year ago. Its depreciation and amortisation costs rose over 8% on year to INR 1.63 billion. Other expenses, which made up 49% of overall expenditure, rose 8% on year to INR 5.79 billion. End
