Aadhar Housing Q1 PAT seen up 21% on growth in AUM

MUMBAI – Aadhar Housing Finance Ltd. is expected to report strong year-on-year growth in its net profit for the June quarter due to a rise in
assets under management, according to the brokerages tracking the company.
Aadhar Housing's consolidated net profit is expected to rise 21% on year to INR 2.87 billion according to the average of estimates from eight brokerages. The highest estimate for the company's net profit is INR 3.20 billion from IDBI Capital Market Services Ltd. and the lowest is INR 2.56 billion from Motilal Oswal Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.
The company's net interest income for the June quarter is expected at INR 5.3 billion, up nearly 23% from INR 4.3 billion in the year-ago quarter, according to the estimates. The highest estimate for the company's net interest income is INR 6.21 billion from YES Securities (India) Ltd. and the lowest is INR 4.60 billion from Motilal Oswal Financial Services Pvt. Ltd.
The company is expected to report a strong improvement in earnings due to stable asset quality, consistent profitability, and increased demand, according to average of estimates. The estimates expect the company's operating expenses will grow nearly 20% on year. Brokerages are divided on the company's net interest margin. While Kotak Institutional Equities expects the margin to rise to 8.2%, Nomura Equity Research and Antique Stock Broking expect it to be 6.6-6.8%.
Analysts expect the company to deliver strong loan disbursements growth in the June quarter. The company's loan disbursements grew 20% on year to INR 30.87 billion from INR 25.66 billion, the highest quarterly disbursements by the company. Aadhar Housing's spread between the yield on advances and the cost of borrowings is estimated to decline on quarter to 6.3% from 6.4% as yields continue to inch down, according to the brokerages.
The company will detail its earnings Friday. Thursday, shares of Aadhar Housing ended at INR 490.75 on the National Stock Exchange, down nearly 1%. The stock is down 2% since the company announced its March quarter earnings on May 5.
All six brokerage reports on Aadhar Housing available with Informist have a "buy" recommendation on the stock with an average target price of INR 601, which is 22.5% higher than the closing price Thursday.
