MUMBAI – Business services and staffing solutions company Quess Corp Ltd. posted a strong growth in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter, beating Street estimates. The net profit for the June quarter was supported by a sharp jump in other income and a reduction in other expenses.

 

The company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 818.99 million, up 61% on year from INR 509.09 million. Analysts' estimate for the bottom line was INR 631.75 million. Sequentially, the net profit is up nearly 28% from INR 641.35 million. The company's consolidated revenue from operations for the June quarter was INR 41.82 billion, up 14% on year from INR 36.51 billion. The top line was slightly above the consensus estimate of INR 39.61 billion. Sequentially, revenues rose 7% from INR 38.92 billion. 

 

The company's other income rose more than five-fold on year to INR 255.47 million. The other expenses of the company declined more than 6% on year to INR 1.38 billion. Quess Corp's revenues from general staffing rose 15% on year to INR 35.96 billion and professional staffing revenues increased 3% to INR 2.52 billion in the June quarter. Revenues from overseas business rose 17% to INR 3.33 billion. 

 

The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter were up 21% at INR 850 million. The EBITDA margin was 2.0%, up slightly from 1.9% in the year-ago quarter.

 

Quess Corp has total 482,000 active associates from 700 districts across India. The general staffing segment hired 469,000 workers, while the professional staffing sector hired 7,000 specialists. The overseas businesses has 6,000 international personnel. The company has over 2,300 active clients out of which 30% are with the company for more than five years.

 

The company delivered strong growth across all major business segments. It reported a new addition of 86 contracts, while the labour code revisions successfully drove a one-time revenue increase of INR 1.76 billion. The professional staffing segment added 36 new contracts, with global capability centers contributing 71% of the headcount and 68% of the segment's revenue.

 

The overseas business added 37 new logos, which generated double-digit growth in both revenue and EBITDA while keeping EBITDA margins completely stable despite currency fluctuations.

 

Wednesday, the company's shares closed at INR 307.40 on the National Stock Exchange, up 1.4% from Tuesday. Quess Corp announced its June quarter earnings after market hours.  End
