MUMBAI – Westlife Foodworld Ltd. is expected to report a nearly four-fold jump in its net profit due to healthy demand, high footfalls, discounts, and delivery-led strategies, according to brokerages tracking the company. The company is also likely to post strong revenue growth for the quarter.
The company is expected to report a consolidated net profit of INR 45.5 million for the June quarter, up 271% from a low base of INR 12.3 million for the year-ago quarter, according to the average of estimates from eight brokerages. In the June 2025 quarter, the company's net profit had declined 167% on year, which created a low base. On a sequential basis, the net profit is up 92%.
The highest estimate for the company's June quarter net profit is INR 97 million from Prabhudas Lilladher Pvt. Ltd. and the lowest is INR 1 million from Kotak Securities Ltd. Nirmal Bang Equities Pvt. Ltd. is an outlier and expects the company to make a loss of INR 32 million for the June quarter.
The company's net sales for the June quarter are expected to grow 10% on year to INR 7.22 billion, according to the average of estimates. On a sequential basis, the net sales are expected to rise 10%. The highest estimate for the company's net sales is INR 7.32 billion from JM Financial Institutional Securities Pvt. Ltd. and the lowest is INR 7.13 billion from Nirmal Bang.
Westlife Foodworld's revenue growth will be driven by new store additions in the quarter, Kotak Securities said. Demand has improved sequentially for the company during the quarter, the brokerage added. The brokerage expects average daily sales to remain broadly flat, while same-store sales growth will be driven mainly by higher customer traffic. The company is expected to deliver same-store sales growth between 2% and 4%, according to the
brokerages. Looking forward, the incremental growth of the company will be supported by value offerings and its own application-based delivery platform, Emkay said.
The industry is likely to benefit from an improved demand environment. Despite elevated competitive intensity, discounts, and delivery-led strategies are likely to protect volumes in the quarter, the brokerages said. Brokerages expect modest same-store sales growth for the quick service restaurants.
The company's June quarter revenue growth is likely to be affected due to lower footfall because of the ‘Adhik Maas', the additional, 13th month in the Hindu calendar which occurs once in four years and is considered inauspicious. Several people do not eat meat during this period which affects demand for companies such as Westlife Foodworld.
Westilfe Foodworld is likely to report earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation of INR 892 million for the June quarter, up more than 4% on year, according to the average of seven estimates. The highest estimate for EBITDA is INR 1 billion from Prabhudas Lilladher and the lowest is INR 543 million from Kotak Securities.
The company's EBITDA margin is seen between 13% and 14.2%, according to the brokerages. The margins will be affected by higher operating costs, Nirmal Bang said. Food inflation is likely to impact margins which will be partly offset by price hikes, Elara Securities said. The demand was subdued during April but it picked up pace in May and June, Prabhudas Lilladher said. The gross margins are likely to be impacted due to elevated energy costs during the quarter, the brokerage said.
The management of the company remains focused on its Vision 2027 initiatives, which includes network expansion, improving store productivity, and strengthening digital-led customer engagement, Nirmal Bang said. Westlife Foodworld Ltd. sets up and operates quick service restaurants in India through its subsidiary Hardcastle Restaurants Pvt. Ltd. The company operates the chain of McDonald's restaurants in west and south India.
The company will report its earnings for the June quarter Thursday. Wednesday, shares of Westlife Foodworld closed almost 5% higher at INR 489.05 apiece on the National Stock Exchange. The stock is down more than 2% since the company announced its March quarter earnings on May 7.
Of the nine research reports on the company available with Informist, seven have a "buy" recommendation on the stock with an average target price of INR 561.71 per share, which is nearly 15% higher than closing price Wednesday. Only one brokerage has a "hold" recommendation with a target price of INR 535, and one has a "sell" call on the stock at INR 450.
