Global gold ETFs record net inflow of $2.62 bln in week to Friday, says WGC

MUMBAI – Global gold exchange-traded funds saw net inflows of $2.62 billion in the week ended Friday, according to weekly data from the World Gold Council. Total inflows during the week were $3.37 billion while outflows were $750 million. In terms of regions, North America saw the highest net inflows of $1.57 billion, followed by Asia at $622.7 million.

 

As of Friday, global gold ETFs in reporting countries put together held 4,063.1 tonnes of the yellow metal, up 18.1 tonnes week-on-week, the data showed. During the week, the US had the highest net inflow of $1.55 billion, followed by China at $633.2 million. South Korea saw net outflows of $18.2 million. At the end of last week, gold ETFs in the US held 1,960.2 tonnes of the yellow metal, the UK had 638.3 tonnes, Switzerland held 375.4 tonnes, and China had 279.7 tonnes, the council said. Gold ETF holdings in India were unchanged at 119 tonnes in the week ended Friday.  End
