NEW DELHI – HCL Technologies Ltd. Monday said it has released a new report on research conducted by Economist Enterprise, the business-to-business arm of The Economist Group providing media solutions and intelligence services to organisations. The study found that while companies across the telecom, media, semiconductor, and technology sectors remain optimistic about artificial intelligence, only a third are able to measure its business impact despite widespread investment in the technology.

"Supported by HCLTech, the report examines how AI is reshaping competitive boundaries across the telecommunications, media and technology (TMT) industries and the widening gap between executive optimism and measurable business impact," the company said in the exchange filing.

The research, based on responses from more than 200 C-suite executives across telecom, media, technology, and semiconductor companies in the US and Europe, found that 91% of organisations believe their artificial intelligence investments are delivering results. However, only one-third said they could quantify the business value generated by those investments. The report also highlighted an execution gap, with only 20% of organisations having a strategy for artificial intelligence upskilling or hiring as part of their artificial intelligence initiatives, while just 17% said governance actively shapes how their artificial intelligence systems operate.

On Monday, shares of HCL Technologies closed at INR 1,295.90 on the National Stock Exchange, up 2%. For the June quarter, the company reported a consolidated net profit of INR 46.24 billion on revenues of INR 345.79 billion.  End
