KOLKATA – A sequential increase in sales volume, primarily in the mobiles segment, and improved sales volume in the IT hardware, telecom and appliances vertical are expected to boost Dixon Technologies (India) Ltd.'s revenue on quarter as well as on year in the June quarter. Price hikes by the company for supplies to original equipment manufacturers are also expected to boost the top line for the quarter.

The country's largest electronics manufacturing services provider, which offers end-to-end design and manufacturing solutions to Indian and global brands, is expected to report around a 5.5% on-year increase in its consolidated net profit for the June quarter at INR 2.37 billion, according to the average of estimates from 11 brokerages. However, the net profit may fall around 7.5% on quarter.

The consolidated revenue, however, is expected to increase around 14% on year and around 39% on quarter to nearly INR 146 billion, according to the average of estimates. The company will announce its financial results for the June quarter on Friday.

The highest net profit estimate of INR 2.81 billion is from Nirmal Bang Equities Pvt. Ltd., and the lowest of INR 1.86 billion is from Anand Rathi Share and Stock Brokers Ltd. The highest revenue estimate of nearly INR 153 billion is from Motilal Oswal Financial Services Ltd., and the lowest revenue estimate of a little over INR 139 billion is from brokerage Anand Rathi.

Brokerages such as Motilal Oswal expect the company's top line to grow 19% on year, primarily on account of a 30% sequential increase in sales of mobile phones and an on-year improvement in the sales volume of IT hardware products, telecom products, televisions, and washing machines. Kotak Securities Ltd., which projected smartphone sales of nearly 7.5 million units in the June quarter driven by higher demand, also expects a similar pick-up in sales owing to these factors but estimates the revenue growth lower at 17% on year.

However, Nuvama Wealth Management Ltd., projected mobile phone sales volume to decline 21% on year in the June quarter on account of weakness in the smartphone industry, and estimates the revenue growth to be lower at 15% on year.

Dixon Technologies' consolidated earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter are estimated at INR 4.92 billion, according to the average of estimates from nine brokerages. The estimates range from a low of INR 4.49 billion by Elara Securities (India) Pvt. Ltd. to a high of INR 5.50 billion by brokerage Nirmal Bang.

Brokerages such as Kotak and Nuvama said the EBITDA margin is set to decline by 36 basis points and 60 bps on year, respectively, as benefits from production-linked incentive schemes are seen going away in the June quarter.

Of the 13 research reports on the company available with Informist, 11 have a 'buy' or equivalent recommendation on the stock, with an average target price of INR 14,610 and one brokerage each has a 'hold' and 'sell' recommendation on the stock.

On Friday, shares of Dixon Technologies ended flat at INR 13,846 on the National Stock Exchange. The shares are up nearly 40% since the company announced its March quarter earnings in May.
