NEW DELHI – 3M India Ltd. Friday said manufacturing operations at its Ahmedabad plant have been temporarily suspended following heavy rainfall and flooding in the region over the last two days.

"The water level has begun to recede; however, the restoration of operations is expected to take a few days. We are currently assessing the extent of any damage to assets. We would like to clarify that all assets of the company are adequately insured," the company said in its exchange filing on Friday. 3M India is currently assessing the extent of asset damage and clarified that all assets are adequately insured. The company does not foresee any material impact on overall operations, citing sufficient manufacturing capacity at its other plant locations.

For the March quarter, 3M India reported net profit of INR 2.15 billion on revenues of INR 13.99 billion. Friday, shares of the company ended at INR 35,456 on the National Stock Exchange, up 0.6%.     End
