NEW DELHI – Oracle Financial Services Software Ltd. on Wednesday reported a sharp sequential rise in consolidated revenue and net profit for the June quarter, with both exceeding analysts' estimates. The sequential growth in net profit was driven by revenue growth outpacing the increase in total expenses. The company's bottom line rose at the fastest sequential pace in three quarters.

 

The company's consolidated net profit grew over 68% on quarter to INR 14.16 billion in the June quarter, and beat analysts' estimate of INR 13.58 billion. Its revenue from operations rose 51% on quarter to INR 31.25 billion, the fastest pace in three quarters. Analysts had estimated the company's top line to be INR 29.96 billion. On a year-on-year basis, the net profit rose nearly 121%, and the top line grew nearly 69%. 

 

The company's total income grew nearly 50% on quarter and over 66% on year to INR 32.03 billion. Meanwhile, the total expense grew over 24?ch on quarter and year to INR 12.64 billion. Of this, expenses related to employee benefits, which account for 85% of the total costs, grew nearly 31% on quarter to INR 10.75 billion. The expenses related to professional fees grew 7% on quarter to INR 1.11 billion. However, the company's other expenses declined over 25% on quarter to INR 378 million, and the expenses related to travel fell over 23% to INR 248 million. 

 

Among segments, revenue from product licenses and related activities, which accounted for 94% of the total revenue, was INR 29.36 billion, up 57% on quarter. The revenue from IT solutions and consulting services declined over 3% to INR 1.89 billion. 

 

Among geographies, the Americas contributed 55% to the company's revenue at INR 17.04 billion. Asia Pacific region's revenue was INR 5 billion, contributing 16% to the total sales. Revenue from the West Asia and Africa region, which contributed 13% to total revenue, was INR 4.12 billion. Europe's revenue was INR 3.15 billion, and the region contributed 10% to the total sales. The domestic market's revenue was INR 1.96 billion, and the region contributed 6% to the total sales.

 

The company said its Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer Makarand Padalkar resigned with effect from Thursday, but "will continue with the company for a few months assisting a smooth transition." 

 

Oracle Financial Services has appointed Avadhut Ketkar, who currently serves as the chief financial officer, as the company's managing director and chief executive officer with effect from Friday. Manish Bhandari, who currently holds the position of chief accounting officer, has been appointed as the chief financial officer with effect from Friday.

We remain focused on providing our customers unprecedented flexibility in deployment options to meet the unique needs of their business, together with modern cloud and AI-enabled solutions to help them drive a considerable competitive advantage in their respective markets," Ketkar said in a statement. 

 

Wednesday, the company's shares closed 6.7% lower at INR 10,851 on the National Stock Exchange. The company announced its results after market hours. End
