Schaeffler India Q2 sales, PAT seen up in double digits

MUMBAI – Automobile component maker Schaeffler India Ltd. is expected to report higher net profit and revenues for the June quarter due to healthy demand in the automotive, industrial bearings, and from exports, according to brokerages tracking the company.
The company is expected to report a consolidated net profit of between INR 3.22 billion and INR 3.37 billion, according to the estimates from three brokerages. The highest estimate of INR 3.37 billion is from 360 ONE Capital Market Pvt. Ltd. and the lowest estimate of INR 3.22 billion is from Nuvama Wealth Management Ltd. At the lower end of the band, the net profit will be 12% higher from INR 2.87 billion in the year-ago quarter.
The consolidated net sales of the company are seen between INR 26.67 billion and INR 27.07 billion, according to the estimates. The highest estimate of INR 27.07 billion is from 360 ONE and the lowest estimate of INR 26.67 billion is from Nuvama. At the lower end of the band, net sales will be up more than 13% from the INR 23.53 billion it had reported in the year-ago quarter. The company's revenue growth will be driven by healthy demand in the automotive and industrial segment, 360 ONE said.
Schaeffler India's revenues are expected to increase on the back of a sharp 30% on-year growth in sales of the automotive technologies segment, driven by an increase in new orders, Kotak Securities Ltd. said. The automotive technologies segment comprises around 33% of the company's revenue. The revenue growth will also be supported by 5% to 10% on-year growth in the auto and industrial bearings segment and in exports. The automotive aftermarket segment is also expected see up to 15% on-year growth, the brokerage said.
The company's earnings before interest, tax, depreciation, and amortisation for the June quarter are expected in a range of INR 4.71 billion and INR 5.01 billion. The highest estimate is from Kotak Securities and the lowest is from Nuvama.
The company is expected to report an EBITDA margin of between 17.7% and 18.6% for the June quarter, according to Nuvama and 360 ONE respectively. The consolidated EBITDA margin is likely to improve by 20 basis points, according to Kotak. However, Nuvama expects the margin to contract by 60 basis points on year due to higher operating costs.
Schaeffler India Ltd. is a subsidiary of German Schaeffler Group. The company develops, manufactures and distributes high-precision roller and ball bearings, engine systems and transmission components, chassis applications, clutch systems and related machine building manufacturing activities.
Investors will closely watch for management commentary on the outlook for demand, order-wins, and capex plans.
Tuesday, shares of Schaeffler India ended at INR 4180.10 per share on the National Stock Exchange, marginally up from Monday. The stock is slightly up 1.3% since the company reported its March quarter earnings in April. The company will report its June quarter earnings Wednesday.
The only brokerage report on the company available with Informist has a ‘buy' recommendation on the stock with a target price of INR 5,000. The target price is nearly 20% higher than the closing price Tuesday.
