NEW DELHI – Domestic airlines carried 13.46 million passengers in June, down 1.03% on year, data released by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation Tuesday showed. InterGlobe Aviation Ltd.'s IndiGo airline retained its dominant position, with its market share recovering to 66.3% in June from 64.9% in May. The airline carried 89.20 million passengers in June as against 99.91 million in May. IndiGo's passenger load factor during the month under review declined to 85.1% from 86.4% in May.
The Air India group's market share declined for the fourth consecutive month to 23.9% in June from 25.6% in May. The airline carried 32.22 million passengers in June as against 39.33 million in May. The airline's passenger load factor for June improved to 85.5% from 83.5% in May.
Akasa Air's market share improved to 6.4% in June from 5.8% in May. The airline carried 8.61 million passengers as against 8.90 million passengers. The airline's passenger load factor for June declined to 92.2% from 9.5% in May.
SpiceJet's market share declined for the fourth consecutive month to 1.9% in June from 2.5% in May. The airline carried 2.63 million passengers as against during the month, as against 3.86 million passengers. The airline's passenger load factor for June improved to 87.8% from 87.4%. End
