EIA says US natural gas stocks up 41 bcf in week ended Jul 10

MUMBAI – Natural gas inventories in the US were up 41 billion cubic feet in the week ended Jul. 10, according to data from the US Energy Information Administration. The inventory was 6.4% higher than the five-year average for this time of the year, the agency said in its weekly report.  

 

The total working gas in underground storage was 3.02 trillion cubic feet as of Jul. 10. The stocks were 181 billion cubic feet higher than the five-year average of 2.84 trillion cubic feet, the report said. Total working gas remained within the five-year historical range. Of the five regions, the East, Midwest, Pacific, and Mountain regions saw a rise in stocks during the week. In the fifth region, South Central, the Salt division continued to record a fall, while stocks in the Nonsalt division rose during the week.

 

At 0755 IST, the most-active August natural gas contract on the New York Mercantile Exchange was down 0.4% at $2.88 per million British thermal units.  End
