NEW DELHI – The Election Commission of India Wednesday extended the deadlines for the special intensive revision of electoral rolls in Delhi, Punjab, Karnataka, and Telangana.

 

In Delhi and Karnataka, the date for door-to-door verification by booth-level officers and submission of enumeration forms has been extended till Aug. 8. The date for publication of the draft electoral roll has been pushed to Aug. 17. Claims and objections can now be filed till Sept. 16. The final electoral rolls in both states will be published on Oct. 19 instead of the previously announced Oct. 7.

 

In Punjab and Telangana, the deadline for block-level officers' visit has been extended till Aug. 3. The draft voter list in Punjab will now be published on Aug. 13. In Telangana, it will be released on Aug. 10. In Punjab, people will be able to file claims and objections till Sept. 12. In Telangana, the last date for filing claims and objection is Sept. 9. The final electoral rolls will be released on Oct. 12 in both states.

 

The Election Commission Tuesday revised the special intensive revision dates for Andhra Pradesh and Haryana as well. The date for submitting the filled enumeration forms has been extended till Jul. 24 in both states. The draft rolls will now be published on Jul. 31 and the final rolls on Oct. 3.  End
